Founding of the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship and Intercultural Management
The idea of applying for and initiating a UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship in an Intercultural Context was born as early as 2004 and originally resulted from the cooperation of Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences with the European Centre for Higher Education (UNESCO-CEPES). In connection with the conception and realisation of concrete projects - especially in Eastern Europe - the UNESCO Chair in "Entrepreneurship and Intercultural Management" was then awarded to Prof. Dr. Christine Volkmann in 2005. With her move in 2008 to the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, she was again awarded the UNESCO Chair in July 2010. The UNESCO Chair was last renewed in 2022.
