Public Policy, education and training programs for entrepreneurs typically focus on key skills needed for entrepreneurial success, ranging from business plans to finance, marketing, human resource management, accounting and networking. However, there is little, if any, focus on the emotional skills requisite for entrepreneurial success. Recent research highlights the daunting emotional challenges encountered along the entrepreneurial journey with a particular concern about the "dark side of entrepreneurship," suggesting a noticeable gap in providing the skills and tools in education and training to navigate the emotional challenges inherent in entrepreneurship.

This European Encounters session draws on a panel of diverse expertise to highlight some of the emotional challenges confronting entrepreneurs and how and why equipping entrepreneurs with crucial emotional skills and tools will bolster their success throughout the entrepreneurial journey.
