Module according to the new examination regulations for the sub-degree programme 3 (optional area) in the combinatorial degree programme
with the Bachelor of Arts degree (PO 2021) for students enrolled for the first time from winter semester 2021/2022. The module of the optional area lasts two semesters and ends with a 90-minute final module examination on the lectures "Start-up Management I" and "Start-up Management II". The final module examination is therefore divided into two equal parts. The lecture "Fundamentals of Start-up Management" takes place in the winter semester, while the lecture "Specific Aspects of Start-up Management" takes place in the summer semester.
Combinatorial Bachelor of Arts
Sub-module 1: Start-up management I
The aim of this event is to provide participants with a sound and practical grounding in the commercial basics that are essential for a successful business start-up. The following topics will be covered, among others: Business plan preparation, financing, marketing, choice of location and legal form, personnel and organisation, founder personality, start-up support. This content is rounded off with the follow-up course "Start-up Management II" ("Specific Aspects of Start-up Management"), which is offered in the summer semester and deals with accounting issues and forms of company succession/takeover in more detail.

Sub-module 2: Start-up management II
The lecture builds on the lecture Fundamentals of Start-up Management I. In addition to an in-depth examination of accounting issues and the analysis of annual financial statements, topics relating to company valuation, company takeovers and company succession are covered. In addition, individual aspects of business management, such as the choice of legal form, are examined in depth in order to create a comprehensive understanding of the framework conditions for determining the profits of young companies.
